Prescribing & Controlled Substances Policy

We do not prescribe controlled substances (Schedule II–V) through our telehealth practice.

Telehealth visits are available only to patients physically located in states where Ibn Sina Physicians is currently licensed or offers telehealth services at the time of the visit. Patient location is verified at the start of each visit. Prescription decisions are made case-by-case based on clinical appropriateness and applicable federal and state laws.

  • Stimulants: Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Dexedrine
  • Benzodiazepines: Xanax, Valium, Ativan, Klonopin
  • Opioids/Narcotics: Percocet, Vicodin, Tramadol, Morphine
  • Sleep Aids: Ambien, Lunesta
  • Hormones: Testosterone, HRT for performance

Clinical Evaluation Required: Booking a consultation does not guarantee a prescription. Every prescription is subject to a full clinical evaluation and physician approval. We do not provide long-term maintenance prescriptions for conditions requiring in-person monitoring without evidence of established local provider care.

Synchronous Care: All services are provided as synchronous telehealth visits. Prescription refills are not provided via portal messaging and require a scheduled physician visit. Patients seeking long-term controlled substance management are requested to consult an in-person local medical practice.
